Guntur Kaaram’s Krishna rights were bought by Dheeraj Mogilineni for 6.5Cr [Including GST]. He is the producer of the film Ambajipeta Marriage Band which is slated for release on 2nd February. During the movie promotions when questioned about the Guntur Kaaram profits, the distributor stated that he achieved breakeven and went on to profits in Krishna.
He announced that the rights were bought at 6.5Cr and the movie made a share collection of Rs 6Cr+ including GST 6.7Cr+ till now. He also said Not only in Krishna but also in Andhra [6 Territories] he has received the word that buyers are everyone and made profits with Guntur Kaaram despite mixed word of mouth.
Mahesh Babu’s brand and Sankranthi season helped the buyers to recover the amounts. Even in Ceeded, the distributors are in a safe zone and the exhibitors lost around 15% – 20%. In Nizam, the ticket hike impacted the movie. Had the team removed the hike after receiving mixed word of mouth, the movie would have collected good numbers like Andhra and put Dil Raju in a safe position. With the huge ticket hike effect Dil Raju faced losses.
